History

Born in a programmer's basement over donuts, the idea of JiUS began as a free, local job board (JobsInME.com) that provided a greatly needed service to local employers and job seekers. Easy-to-use and useful web tools drew a considerable amount of traffic to the site, catching the eyes and ears of investors.

In 1999, armed with a president, a board of directors and a hard-working handful of employees and contractors, the JiUS start-up was launched. Within a few years, its products began taking the recruiting industry by storm, growing into five New England states with plans to expand further.

Today, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Journal Register Company, JiUS is one of the fastest-growing local employment websites - both in terms of visits to the site and jobs posted.
